Rules for E-mail reflectors on N4KSS.NET domain

All lists are open to anyone expressing a sincere desire to be a part of, and contribute to, each list you subscribe.

1) It is each member's personal responsibility to install and KEEP UPDATED an ANTI-VIRUS program on any computer used to post messages to the List.
2) All members are responsible for keeping their mailboxes "bounce" free. "Bouncing" members will be unsubscribed and will need to re-subscribe if they wish to return to the list. Some things that cause bounces are vacation or out of office messages, full mailboxes and even subtle changes of e-mail addresses. You must post with the exact e-mail address you joined the list with. Nonmembers cannot post to the list and therefore will bounce. Be sure to add the reflector to your address book in order that it will not be blocked by your email program or if you are using a spam filter, that the spam filter does not block the reflector address as spam.
4) Please TRIM (edit) all unnecessary portions of messages you reply to. This reduces the amount of message 'clutter' one has to scroll through in order to read them. It also helps keep the e-mail within the 4000 character limit set on the e-mail server and will keep your e-mail from bouncing.
5) When forwarding or cross-posting messages to or from the list, please include the source (group name, URL, etc) of the message or article and above all, be sure that you have permission to forward or cross post from that list. If you do not show that you have permission to cross post I will remove you from the list as this can become a legal issue. Please remove any e-mail addresses from the message that are not directly related to the message itself. Cross posting from any of my reflectors to another list need permission from the original sender of the post.
6) All postings are posted right away, providing members with 'real-time' message delivery and discussion capabilities.
7) Each member is solely responsible for the content they choose to post to the list.
8) Please keep to the topic of the list. Off topic posts will lead to being removed from the list. I can make new lists, so if you need a list that has a different topic, let me know and we can start a new list. If a list you are on is considered read only, then DO NOT POST to the list. Aresalert and newsletter are read only lists.
9) Remember that you can always unsubscribe from any list by sending an e-mail to leave the subject of the e-mail blank. In the body of the e-mail enter: unsubscribe listname youremail@address.com another alternative is to e-mail and request to be removed. Be sure to include which list you wish to be removed from and what e-mail address you were using.
10) Due to problems mostly on my end that cause a lot of work on my part. People posting to multiple lists or e-mail addresses without using blind carbon copies(BCC:) It is also bad e-mail etiquette . Feel free to ask me if you don't know what is, or how to use, a BCC. I will be removing people from the reflectors who send a reflector address along with multiple e-mail addresses in the To: or CC: lines. I know this is probably a hassle. Especially since most people don't read my rules page or my e-mail etiquette page, I don't plan on notifying them when they break this rule. They will just find that they are no longer subscribed and will need to re-subscribe.
11) The server will only allow about 4000 character e-mails. Large attachments or graphics will make postings bounce. Large e-mail headers (refer to #10 above) will also cause postings to bounce.
12) Not a rule, but I'm sure you will be glad you did it, is proofread. Spell checkers help a lot but they don't catch those wrong words or other little errors we make. Proofreading will help reduce having to make another post to correct the previous ones.
